Men's Golf Takes 12th at Allegheny Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team posted their best score at the Allegheny Invitational, carding a two-day total of 636 to finish in 12th place out of 19 teams on Monday.

Wittenberg, who led after day one, stayed out front to win the invitational with a score of 595. Rochester shot a 295 today to finish with a 599 for second place, followed by Allegheny in third with a 601. Denison had the individual medalist in Dylan Lee with a winning score of 145 (76-69).

Kevin Koerbel (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) remained the lead Lions golfer after the first day to post an overall score of 154 to tie for 20th overall.  He shot a team-best 78 today.

Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) and Scott Klein (Erie, PA/Fairview) each carded a 159 for the invitational to finish tied for 45th. Vetica had a 79, while Klein added an 82 to his total from yesterday.

Finishing fourth on the team, Matt Gurska (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) finished with an 83 today for a two-day score of 164 to tie for 71st. Dan Corbin (Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) tallied a 93 on the second time round to go with an 83 for a 177 total.

Behrend host their own invitaitonal tomorrow at Lake View Country Club. Tee time is 12 p.m.
