Gurska, Lions Win Again

FORESTVILLE, NY - For the second time in one week, the Penn State Behrend men's golf team has finished ahead of the field and this time winning the D'Youville Invitational held on Tuesday at the Tri-County Country Club.

Matt Gurska (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) shot his second best round of his freshman year on the par 71 course, carding a 75 to win individual honors. Kevin Koerbel (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) took second place with a 76, one stroke behind his teammate.

Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) was tied for fifth overall along with three other golfers, shooting an 81. Zack Polanski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) tied Jordan Roberts of Mt. Aloysius thanks to a score of 85.

Scott Klein (Erie, PA/Fairview) was the final golfer who contributed to the Lions' first-place trophy. He shot an 86 on the day.

Behrend won with a team score of 316 and Medaille earned second with a 330. Mt. Aloysius was third with 332 and Pitt-Bradford held down the fourth spot (341). D'Youville placed fifth (372) and Hilbert took sixth (383).

The Lions return to action on Saturday at Waynesburg. Tee time is 10 a.m.
