Koerbel Leads Lions at La Roche Invitational

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Kevin Koerbel (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) carded a team-low score of 81 to finish seventh overall and lead the Penn State Behrend golf team to a fifth-place finish at the La Roche Fall Invitational on Tuesday.

Playing at the Wildwood Golf Club, the Lions gathered a team score of 335 for fifth out of seven teams. The Redhawks won their own invitational with a low score of 315. Mt. Aloysius took second (326) and Penn State Altoona came in third (329).

Zach Polanski (Erie, PA/McDowell) was second on the team and tied for 10th overall with an 83 on the day. Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) and Dan Corbin (Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) tied for 17th, finishing with an 85.

Alec Italiano (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) shot an 86 to tie for 21st overall for Behrend.

The Lions take a week off and return to action at the AMCC Championships on Oct. 9-10.
