Golfers Finish Fourth at Medaille Invitational

AMHERST, NY – All five Penn State Behrend men's golfers finished in the Top 20 to lead the Lions to a fourth place finish at the Medaille Invitational at the Glenwood Golf Course in Amherst, NY on Saturday.

La Roche won the invitational with a team total of 303 thanks to having four golfers in the Top 10, including the individual medalist in Kevin Loutsenhizer with an even par (72) for the winning score. Penn State Altoona finished second with 310 and Pitt-Bradford was third (318).

Zach Polanski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) and Alec Italiano (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) tied for 10th overall, each carding a 79. Polanski shot 41 on the way out and 38 on the way back, while Italiano shot a 40 on the front nine and 39 on the back.

Dan L'Herbier (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) finished tied for 14th with a score of 81. He fired a 39 on the first nine and 42 on the back nine. Dean Rainville (Erie, PA/McDowell) and AJ Pinto (Erie, PA/McDowell) also carded the same score on the day, shooting an 84 to tie for 19th. Rainville tied L'Herbier for a front-nine score of 39 and then shot a 45 for his total. Pinto had a 43-41 on the course.

The Lions return to action on Tuesday at the La Roche Invitational. Tee time is at 12 p.m.
