Vetica, VanDamia Lead Behrend at Mt. Aloysius Invite

CRESSON, Pa. – Penn State Behrend won their second straight men's golf invitational, posting a team score of 307 to capture the Mt. Aloysius Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The Lions had the top two golfers in the tournament in Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) and Nicholas VanDamia (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf). The two carded identical scores of 71 to tie for first place. Vetica won individual medalist for beating VanDamia in a two-hole playoff.

The closest team was Medaille and Pitt-Greensburg with a 336 total. Medaille was runner up on a tiebreaker for lowest individual leader.

Alex Shindledecker was third on the team with a 79 on the par-72 course. Scott Klein (Fairview, PA/Fairview) was fourth for Behrend, scoring an 80 and Brian Ropiecki (North East, PA/North East) carded an 86 for the Lions final score.

The Lions return to action tomorrow at Penn State Altoona. Tee time is 12 p.m.
