Men's Golf in Second Place After Day One of Mercyhurst Invitational

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team is in second place with a team score of 301 after the first day of the Mercyhurst Invitational held on Sunday afternoon.

Carnegie Mellon is in first place by one stroke with a 300 and the Lions are in second with a 301. Mercyhurst is in third with an identical score of 301 and Humber is fourth with the same total of 301. The tiebreaker for the teams tied was the fifth golfer scores.

Scott Klein (Fairview, PA/Fairview) is tied for first place with a team-low score of 71. Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) and Nicholas VanDamia (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) are tied once again with a 74 after the first round.

Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell) was fourth on the team with an 82, while Brian Ropiecki (North East, PA/North East) finished with an 84 on the day. Cody Stinson (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) tallied an 86 for Behrend.

The Lions return to action tomorrow for day two of the Mercyhurst Invitational, weather permitting.
