Simon Selected to Compete at NCAA Championships

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend sophomore Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA / Penn Trafford) has become the first men's swimmer in program history to qualify for the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

The championships will be held March 20-23 at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas and hosted by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the City of Shenandoah.

Simon will be competing in three events over the weekend. He is seeded 12th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.02, 39th in the 50 freestyle (21.03) and 52nd in the 100 freestyle (47.25).

This season, Simon set five individual team records and four relay records. He also was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Co-Swimmer of the Year, tied for highest-point earner at the championships and was the conference champion in three individual events.
