ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving sophomore Mark Patterson (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III North and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Swimmer of the Week for his performance over the weekend.

Patterson won four events spanning over two meets, while breaking the St. Vincent College pool record in the 200 backstroke on Saturday. He was a triple winner against Pitt-Bradford Friday night, winning the 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke and helping the 400 medley relay to victory. He then set a pool record in the 200 backstroke in 1:59.49 (27.93, 30.98, 30.70, 29.88) and also took second in the 200 free (1:49.63) and was third in the 200 medley relay.

Behrend returns to action on Wednesday, February 8 at the AMCC Championships.
