Kost, Horn Named AMCC Swimmers of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend swimming and diving senior Nick Kost (Ashburg, VA/Stone Bridge) and junior Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village) have been named the the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Swimmers of the Week for his performance at the championships this weekend.

Kost won three individual events and swam on two winning relays to help the men's team win their 11th straight AMCC Championship. He won every event he competed in, claiming first place in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 breaststroke in which he set a new team and pool record. Kost also swam on the winning 800 free relay that broke four records and the 400 free relay. Kost was tied with teammate Mark Patterson for the highest-point winner of the meet.

For the women, Horn broke 12 total records and also won every event she swam in to lead Behrend to its third straight and 10th overall AMCC Championship. She was the highest-point winner of the meet, winning the 50 free, 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle while being a part of four winning relays. Horn set a new team, pool, AMCC meet and AMCC open record in the prelims of the 50 free (24.24) and also set a pool record in the 100 freestyle (53.25).
