Men's Water Polo Competes at Bucknell Invite

LEWISBURG, Pa.  – The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team suffered two losses on the opening day of the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday. The Lions dropped game one to the hosts, 26-3 and then fell to Queens, 19-0.

Behrend was able to net three goals on Bucknell after being shut out a year ago. The Bisons have won three straight games and has tallied 111 goals on the young season. The Lions outscored Bucknell 3-1 ovr the final 6:41 of play, thanks to a pair of goals from Ali Khan and one by Nick Loukides. Twelve different players scored for Bucknell, led by Stephen Norton with five goals and one assist.

Goalie Brian Shapter had four saves and one steal in game one.

In game two, Behrend struggled to find the back of the net but Shapter came away with eight saves and one steal. Queens tallied five goals in the first period and scored six more in the second for an 11-0 lead at halftime.

The Lions return to action on tomorrow against Brown. Game time is 9:45 a.m.
