Women's Water Polo Announces Team Awards

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team announced their team award winners for the 2015 season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kara Stegmann (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) earned the team MVP award and was an instrumental part of the squad that set the programs all-time win mark. Stegmann was a brick wall in the net, recording 183 saves. She swiped 17 steals, notched 10 assists and scored twice.

Freshman driver Rayni Modecki (Carnegie, PA/Chartiers Valley) garnered the team's Most Improved award. Modecki posted six steals, two goals, two assists and four kickouts.

The Sportsmanship/Leadership award went to junior driver Mary Therese Causgrove (Erie, PA/McDowell). She led the team with 16 kickouts, had 26 steals and tallied 17 assists. She also scored 14 times.

Freshman utility Kaitlyn Conely (Exeter, CA/Exeter) picked up the Rookie of the Year award. In her first season as a Behrend Lion, Conely finished second on the team with 20 goals and 34 steals. She also added 11 assists and 11 kickouts.
