Men's Golf Wins Title and Runner Up at Pitt-Bradford Invitational

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team took first and second at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational at Pine Acres Country Club on Saturday.

The Lions shot a 312 and a 317 to take home the championship and runner up honors. Penn State Altoona came in third with a 328 and La Roche tied for fourth with Pitt-Bradford.

After tying for first with a low score of 74, Noah Kunst (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) competed in a playoff hole for individual medalist. The sophomore parred the hole and his Javon Trout from Pitt-Greensburg birdied to home the hardware.

Also leading the winning "white" team, JT Kuchnicki (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) fired a 76 to end four-over par to finish fourth overall. Andy Goss (Allison Park, PA/Hampton) and Mark Peters (Mercer, PA/Mercer) tied for third on the team and 18th overall with an 81 on the day. Zac McCue (Prospect, PA/Slippery Rock) rounded out the top five with an 86 for the course, tying for 44th place.

On the "blue" team, Ryder Grignol (Erie, PA/McDowell) led with a 77 to finish tied for fifth place, while Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) was one stroke ahead carding a 78 and tying for seventh.

Cody Stinson (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) shot an 80, putting him eight over par and finishing tied for 14th. Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) and Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell) fired an 82 and 83, respectively, to complete the team results.

Behrend returns to action on Sunday, September 11 at the Allegheny Invitational.
