Lions Place Eighth at ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships

VICTOR, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team finished tied for eighth place with a team score of 624 at the ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Championships on Sunday afternoon.

The Lions fired a 310 on day two of the championships to combined with yesterday's score of 314 for a 624 total to tie with Mount St. Mary's. NYU stayed out in front to win the championships with a 584. St. John Fisher and Rutgers Camden tied for second place with a 585.

Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) and JT Kuchnicki (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) each shot a 154 for a two-day total. Matlock led on day two with a 74, while Kuchnicki fired a 76 to tie for 30th overall.

Sean Sculley (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst), who finished first after day one, carded an identical score of 78 to finish tied for 42nd overall with a 156.

Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell) tied for 53rd overall with a 161 for both days. He recorded an 82 on the second day to combine with a 79. Noah Kunst hit a 79 on day one and then an 85 today for a 164 total to tie for 63rd overall.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow at their own invitational at Lawrence Park Golf Course, beginning at 12 p.m.
