Three Golfers Named All-AMCC

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team had three players named to the 2016 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team, announced on Friday.

Juniors Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst) and Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) were selected to the first team, while senior Cody Stinson (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) earned second-team honors.

Sculley, the 2016 AMCC individual champion, was chosen to the first team after being selected to the second team a year ago. He leads the team and ranks third in the conference with a 78.0 average for 10 rounds. Sculley finished in the Top 10 in four tournaments and fired a season-low 74 at the AMCC Championships.

Matlock averaged 78.36 for 10 rounds this season, ranking fourth in the conference to earn his first All-AMCC honors. He was the runner up behind Sculley at the AMCC Championships with a score of 152 (77-75) and carded a season-low 74 on the second day of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships.

Stinson competed in every tournament this season for the Lions. In 12 rounds, he recorded an 80.5 average to rank eighth in the AMCC. The senior tallied the lowest score of the season, posting a 71 at the Carnegie Mellon Fall Invite to tie for third overall. Stinson finished in the Top 10 twice, including seventh place at the AMCC Championships (163).

Behrend returns in the spring and will represent the conference at the NCAA Championships May 16-19 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
