Men's Golf in Seventh Place After Day One of Rosemont

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team sits in seventh place out of 19 teams after day one of the 2017 Rosemont Raven Invitational at the Downingtown Country Club on Saturday.

Cabrini is on top of the leaderboard with a team score of 311. Rosemont is in second (313), followed by Farmingdale State in third (314) while Albright and Eastern are tied for fourth (318). Immaculata sits sixth (329) and the Lions are one stroke off in seventh with a 330.

Junior Sean Sculley (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) birdied two holes to finish with a team-low score of 80 (37-43) to tie for 18th place. Sophomore Noah Kunst (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) and Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) were tied with an 83 on the day for 31st overall. Kunst fired a 38 on the front and a 45 on the back, while Matlock tallied a 42 on the front nine and the best team score on the back with a 41.

Senior Cody Stinson (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek), who also birdied two holes, had the best score on the team for the first nine holes (36) and then tallied a 48 on the back for an 84. His score was good enough to tie for 38th place.

Not included in the scoring was Junior Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell). He recorded a 44-46 for a total of 90 and tied for 62nd.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow for day two of the Rosemont Raven Invitational. Tee times begin at 10 a.m.
