ERIE, Pa. – Ty Elder (Brentwood, CA/Heritage) earned Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping the Penn State Behrend men's water polo team to a 2-2 record at the Southern Division Championships last weekend.
Elder lifted the Lions in the net making 51 saves, grabbing 10 steals and adding four assists in the four-game stretch. The Lions finished ninth at the Southern Championships, an all-time high for the program.
On the season, Elder made 252 saves which ranks second to his efforts in the 2013 season for most saves in a season. He also holds the programs all-time saves mark with 767.
