ALLIANCE, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team traveled to Alliance on Saturday to compete in the Mt. Union College Jim Wuske Invitational.
Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) won two events – the 1000 meter run and the 400 meter dash.
She set a school record in the 1000 with a time of 3:03.72 and qualified for ECAC's. Jamie Szramowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) finished second in the same event with a time of 3:12.25.
Spade won the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.13. That number also qualifies the senior for ECAC's.
Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) finished fifth in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:59.85. Haley Hughes (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) came in eighth in the same event at 11:12.76.
In the triple jump, freshman Cecelia Miller (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) came in fifth (9.70 meters).
Sarah Parrish (North East, PA/North East) carded a sixth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.43 seconds.
In the 200 meter dash, Franki DiSalvo (Erie, PA/McDowell) finished 11th with a time of 28.21.
The Lions will next be in action at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on February 14.
