NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team took to the stage on Saturday afternoon at Westminster.

April McDermott (Atco, NJ/Hammonton) qualified for ECAC's and set a new Behrend outdoor record by winning the discus throw competition, going 39.46 meters.

Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) took the 800 meter run, and the senior did so emphatically – Spade timed in at 2:16.43 while the next closest finisher came in at 2:22.00.

The Lions squad of Franki DiSalvo (Erie, PA/McDowell), Jen Gibson (Hookstown, PA/South Side), Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler), and Spade set a new program record in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:03.06. That time qualifies the foursome for ECAC's.

DiSalvo, Allen, Spade, and Kati Piger (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock) set yet another school record, again qualifying for ECAC's with a 50.62 in the 4x100 meter event.

In the 100 meter dash, Allen posted a second place finish. She then continued her strong afternoon with a third place finish in the 200.
