GAMBIER, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team took part in the Kenyon College Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) qualified for ECAC's in the 800 meter run. She finished first and broke her own school record with a time of 2:13.66.
In the 5000 meter run, Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) was victorious with a time of 18:45.43. Haley Hughes finished fourth in the same event at 19:29.05 seconds.
Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) posted second-place finishes in both the 100 meter dash (12.37 seconds) and the 200 meter dash (25.53 seconds), qualifying for ECAC's in both events.
The foursome of Franki DiSalvo (Erie, PA/McDowell), Spade, Jen Gibson (Hookstown, PA/South Side), and Allen broke their own school record in the 4x400 meter relay, qualifying for ECAC's with a time of 4:03.42.
April McDermott (Atco, NJ/Hammonton) finished fourth in the hammer throw competition, going a distance of 36.76 meters.
In the high jump, Katie Boehmer (McDonald, PA/South Fayette) posted a top-10 finish, coming in eighth at 1.42 meters.
Jamie Szramowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) finished seventh in the 1500 with at time of 5:04.43 seconds.
As a team, the Lions finished seventh overall out of 13 schools with 55.50 points.
The Lions will host the Penn State Behrend Invitational on Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m.
