ERIE, Pa. – Clare Jefferys (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Rookie of the week for the week ending April 17, announced on April 22.

Jefferys tallied 11 goals at the 2016 CWPA Division III Championship to earn the women's varsity honors. The award marks the second of the season for her after she previously picked up the same honors on April 11.

Jefferys opened the championship hosted by Connecticut College at Lott Natatorium with five goals in a 14-6 defeat of Grove City College.  Following a hat-trick versus Division III No. 10-ranked Washington & Jefferson College in a 10-5 semifinal loss, Jefferys wrapped up the championship by putting away three shots in a 14-11 loss to Carthage College in the third place game.
