ERIE, Pa. – Sophomore Lucas Kachurick (McKeesport, PA/Elizabeth Forward) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men’s Diver of the Week and freshman Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford) earned Swimmer of the Week to sweep the conference’s weekly honors.
In a 180-93 win over St. Vincent on Saturday, Kachurick won the first 1m with five dives (197.95) and the second 1m event of six dives (319.35) for a combined score of 517.30 to reset the team record he broke last year with a 426.85 total.
Simon was a triple winner on Saturday. He won the 200 backstroke with a season-best time of 54.55, before collecting his second victory in the 100 freestyle, swimming his best time of 49.85. He also swam a leg on the winning 200 medley relay.
The Lions return to action tomorrow against Division II Gannon. Meet time is 6 p.m.
