Penn State Behrend Men's Tennis Cruises Past Franciscan With 8-1 Win

The Penn State Behrend Lions men's tennis team was back in action on Friday, February 26.  The blue and white took on AMCC opponent Franciscan University Barons and cruised past them for a comfortable 8-1 victory.

Elliot Blackstone (Wexford/Pine Richland) won in number one singles play winning 6-0, 6-1 while also winning at doubles with teammate Jacob Fling (Erie/Villa Maria) by a score of 8-2.  Shane Mosier (Kersey/St.Marys), Kelly Manning (Sharpsville/Kennedy Catholic), Fling, and Brad Nagel (West Alexander/McGuffey) all won in singles play by overwhelming margins.  Mosier teamed up with Peter Bissert (Pittsburgh/Seton LaSalle) while Manning teamed with John Michalko (Washington/McGuffey) to also win at doubles by scores of 8-2 and 8-1, respectively.

With the victory, the blue and white improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference.  Behrend will be back in action at home tomorrow when they battle the Westminster Titans.  The team will then take to the road for their spring break trip down to Hilton Head, South Carolina where they will play four matches in five days.
