The 2010 men's tennis All-Conference Team was recently announced with several of the Penn State Behrend Lions being represented with first and second team selections.  The Behrend Lions captured their third straight AMCC championship this year.

Junior Elliot Balckstone (Wexford/Pine Richland) continued his dominance of the conference this year and earned himself another First-Team selection and a third straight Player of the Year honor.  Blackstone would be the number one seed in singles and doubles in the conference tournament and did not dissapoint with a 7-6, 6-0 victory to capture the singles title and teamed with Chris Galvin (Erie/McDowell) to take the doubles title with a score of 8-3.

Only a freshman, Galvin would produce a great first season and saw himself be named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year and a First-Team selection in number one doubles.  Seniors Shane Mosier (Kersey/St.Marys) and Kelly Manning (Sharpsville/Kennedy Catholic) stepped up their game and provided leadership throughout the season for the young players.  Both Mosier and Manning were named to the First-Team singles.  Mosier would also be named to the First-Team in doubles play while Manning was a Second-Team selection.

Sophomore Peter Bissert (Pittsburgh/Seton LaSalle) would also put in a great season for the Behrend Lions and was rewarded with First-Team selections in both singles and doubles play.  Bissert would defeat Scott Pickrell of Penn State Altoona, 6-4, 6-0, to take the title in singles and would go on to team up with Mosier to take the doubles title by a final of 8-6.  Rounding out the Behrend All-Conference selections was John Michalko (Washington/McGuffey) who earned himself a Second-Team doubles spot after a very successful season on the courts.  Head Coach Jeff Barger would also earn himself yet another Coach of the Year honor after leading his team to another conference crown.

The Penn State Behrend Lions have won the AMCC title three straight years which adds to the collection from 1998 and 2004.  The blue and white had an overall record of 17-7 and an AMCC mark of 9-1.  The Behrend Lions won the crown this year with 22 total points which was three better than second place.
