  • Lions Fall Twice at Southern Division Championships

    The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team dropped a pair of games Saturday at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championships hosted by Princeton. In their first contest, the Lions (2-18) fell to Navy (15-10), 21-4. In game two, Behrend was defeated by local rival Mercyhurst (14-11).

    Matthew Johnson's (Houston, TX/Cypress Falls) three goals led the Penn State Behrend men's water polo team past Monmouth (3-9) Saturday night by a score of 7-3. The Lions (3-18) scored four fourth quarter goals to claim the victory.

    The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team travels to Princeton this weekend for the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Championship. The Lions (2-16) are the 11 seed in the tournament and take on the No. 2 seed Navy and the No. 7 seed Mercyhurst.

    The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team was defeated by Mercyhurst 9-5 Saturday afternoon. The Lions (2-16) played well defensively and kept themselves in the game, but could not come up with enough on the offensive end to win.

    On senior day, the Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team dropped a pair of games to Monmouth and Gannon. In the first game of the day, Monmouth edged the Lions 11-10 in a thrilling back and forth contest. Game two featured a battle of two Erie schools. Gannon won the contest, 16-10.

  • Elder Breaks Career Record for Saves

    The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team dropped a pair of games Saturday at the Division III Championships hosted by Washington and Jefferson. With 20 saves on the day, Ty Elder broke Nick McGrady's career saves record with a total of 670. Elder also added five steals in the two games.

    Carson Williamson scored four goals for the Penn State Behrend men's water polo team in a tough loss Sunday morning to Washington and Jefferson (9-9) by a score of 16-12. The Lions (2-10) scored seven goals in the fourth quarter however it was too little too late.

    The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team lost a close 10-9 hard-fought contest to Salem Saturday night. The heartbreaking loss came in the final seconds when Michael Ebenkamp put in a goal to seal the victory for Salem.

    The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team dropped two games on Saturday in the Gary Troyer Tournament. In game one,the Lions (2-8) were defeated by Occidental (4-15) by a score of 12-2. In a rematch of a thrilling game the previous night, Caltech (6-9) defeated Behrend, 11-4.
  • Vink Shines in Victory Over Caltech, La Verne Defates Lions

    LA VERNE, Ca. - Justin Vink scored the go ahead goal with 3:02 left in the fourth quarter to lead the Penn State Behrend men's water polo team past Caltech Friday night. Vink gave the Lions an 11-10 lead and scored an insurance goal to give Behrend a two-goal lead with 2:37 left in regulation. Behrend would complete the thrilling comeback victory by a final score of 12-11.

    Competing at the Bucknell Invitational, the Penn State Behrend men's water polo team lost twice on Sunday. The Lions lost the first game to Johns Hopkins by a score of 16-0. In game two, Behrend was defeated by George Washington 16-2.
