Behrend Breezes Past Mt. Aloysius

ERIE, Pa. – Kim Pol tallied a season-best 19 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the floor, while all but one Penn State Behrend women's basketball player scored to post a astonishing 90-40 victory over visiting Mt. Aloysius in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Sunday.

For the second time this season, Lions (9-3, 5-1 AMCC) put up 90 or more points and have increased their winning streak to seven. Amy Oldach continues to put up big numbers with 17 points, six assists, six steals and four rebounds in the win. Aly Eagle was also in double figures with 13 points, including a 5-for-5 showing from the line.

The Mounties' (3-9, 1-5 AMCC) leading scorer Kaylee Keagy paced the team again with 16 points and six rebounds. Spring Krepps added 12 points.

It was Behrend's defense that shined throughout the game but especially in the first four minutes where four out of the five baskets were scored off steals, including three by Oldach. The Lions easily jumped out to a 12-0 lead and a minute later grew to 15-2 at the 15:07 mark.

Behrend only allowed six points over a span of 12 minutes, taking a 30-6 lead on a layup by Bourquin with 7:58 left in the half.

The Lions knocked in 11 three-pointers on the afternoon, getting three in the first half with Abby Henderson's triple pushing the lead to 40-14 at the 3:36 mark.

Behrend did not let up in the second half, going 6-for-6 from behind the arc in the first six minutes of the final stanza. Oldach dropped three, while Pol, Eagle and Emily Detsch added one.

The Lions held a 54-31 rebounding margin and shot 85 percent from the charity stripe.

Behrend is going for its eighth straight win on Wednesday at Pitt-Bradford. Game time is 6 p.m.
