ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Behrend junior starting pitcher Thomas Zbezinski (Gibsonia, PA/Pine Richland) has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention, announced on Wednesday. It is the first time he has earned this honor. 

Zbezinski threw his first collegiate no-hitter against the Pitt-Bradford in game one of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) quarterfinal series. Zbezinski became the fifth pitcher in Behrend program history to accomplish this feat. He struck out nine in seven innings to improve to 5-1 on the mound.

The Lions return to action tomorrow for the AMCC semifinal series against No. 3 Mt. Aloysius. First pitch is 1 p.m.
