Lions Take Down Baldwin Wallace, 112-81

ERIE, Pa. -- The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team earned their first victory of the 2013-14 campaign on Saturday, defeating Baldwin Wallace 112-81 at the Junker Center.

Nick Roth (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Nick Kost (Ashburn, VA/Stone Bridge) were double winners for the Lions on the individual level, with Roth winning the 100 yard butterfly in 56:18 and the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.14.

Kost was victorious in the 100 yard backstroke (59:10), as well as the 400 yard individual medley. With a time of 4:24.39, the freshman set a new Junker Center Pool record for the 400 yard IM.

Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA/Penn Traford) won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21:95, and Victor Nguyen (San Jose, CA/Evergreen Valley) finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:03.21)

The Lions also won the 400 yard medley relay, as a team of Simon, Eric Matteson (Corry, PA/Corry), Scott Romanko (Plum, PA/Plum), and Steve Torre (South Fayette, PA/South Fayette) finished in 3:36.62.

Behrend will be back in action on November 26, when they host Gannon at 5 p.m.
