Three Compete at Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio – Three Penn State Behrend men's swimmers traveled to Kenyon on Saturday to compete in their last chance meet to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA/Penn Trafford) won the 100 backstroke with a time an NCAA qualify time of 50.33. In the 100 backstroke time trials, he clocked in at 49.94, missing the A-cut qualifying time of 48.26.

Ty Elder (Brentwood, CA/Heritage) competed in the 100 and 200 freestyle. He swam his season-best time in the 100 freestyle time trials in 49.68 for fifth overall. Elder also placed 17th in the 200 freestyle (1:49.42).

Steve Torre (South Fayette, PA/South Fayette) finished 18th in the 50 free (22.67) and in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.46). He also placed ninth in the 100 backstroke time trial in 58.26.
