Simon Returning to NCAA Championships

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend junior Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA / Penn Trafford) will make his second straight appearance at the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships hosted this year by Franklin College at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This year, the championships will be held on March 19-22, 2014. Similar to last season, Simon qualified for three events. His best time comes in the 100 backstroke and is seeded 13th overall with a time of 49.88. Simon will also compete in the 50 and 100 freestyle. He is seeded 49th in the 50 free (21.25) and is 54th in the 100 free (47.40).

Simon, the program's first male swimmer All-American, will look to garner his second All-America honors in the 100 backstroke. The two-time Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Co-Swimmer of the Year, repeated as conference champion in the 50 free and 100 backstroke. Simon tied for the highest-point earner and helped the Lions win gold medals in the 400 medley and freestyle relays.
