BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Three members of the Penn State Behrend men's water polo squad were recognized on the 2010 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete Team and the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Squad.
Nick Loukides and Jake DesRoches were honored with Outstanding (3.71-4.0) recognition, while Andrew Opalewski earned Excellent (3.2-3.4) accolades.
The program honors student-athletes who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher and competed during the 2010 season. Overall, 110 varsity student-athletes were recognized by the CWPA.
The Lions were also one out of 13 programs to be awarded as a Scholar-Athlete Team, exceeding a 2.75 team grade-point average.
