ERIE, Pa. – Sophomore Ali Khan and freshman Sam Hyrne have been named to the 2010 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division III Men’s Water Polo All-American Team.

Khan and Hyrne were both selected as honorable mentions and are earning All-America status for the first time in their careers. Khan was recognized at the two-meter position after tying with Hyrne for most goals this season (36). He also dished out 14 assists and drew 31 kickouts and eight penalty shots. Khan averaged 1.50 goals per game and recorded a season-high four markers at Mercyhurst.

Hyrne, a utility player, scored 36 goals in his first season with the Lions. He led the team with 26 assists, while making 26 steals and drawing 31 kickouts. Hyrne scored multiple goals in nine games, including a season-best five goals at Gannon.

This season, the Lions set a new school record for wins with seven victories and finished ninth at the Southern Championships.
