Women's 4x200 Qualifies for ECACs at Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at the Boomer Invitational hosted by Ithaca College Saturday.

The women started off strong with an ECAC qualifying run in the 4x200m relay. Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan), Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler), Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) and Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch) took home a sixth place finish with a qualifying time of 1:48.80.

The veteran of that team, Allen, also placed in the 60m dash. She finished fourth in a time of 7.95, just .01 seconds off her pace at last week's Invitational where she set a personal record for the season.

The 4x200 squad, with the substitution of Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) for Yenchik, also took 10th in the 4x400m relay. They finished with a time of 4:25.08.

Yenchik traded in her 4x400 race to place in the pole vault. She took fifth with a height of 3.20m. Michaela Krause (Union City, PA/Union City Area) also placed in the pole vault, taking 14th with a height of 2.75.

Behrend returns to action Saturday at Tiffin University for an 11 a.m. start.
