WESTMINSTER, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team placed eighth out of 26 teams in the Westminster Invitational Saturday with a team score of 42.
Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) broke the school record and an ECAC qualifying mark in the 400m dash with a blistering time of 57.29. She also took third in the 200m with a time of 25.46.
Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) placed second in the 800m, posting a time of 2:20.77. She was shy of the ECAC qualifying mark by .77 seconds.
Rachel Pell (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) got three points in the 4000m hurdles with a sixth-place finish in 1:09.83.
The 4x100m relay team of Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan), Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch), Pell and Allen finished fifth. They combined to post a 50.02 and qualified for ECACs.
Faith Leri (Alexandria, PA/Juniata Valley) took a sixth-place finish in the high jump, raising 1.51m.
The Lions return to the track to race at home next Saturday at the Behrend Invitational scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
