Women's Track & Field Runs at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at the John Homon Invitational hosted by Mount Union Sunday.

Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) continued to improve on already ECAC qualified time in the 200m. She won the event in a season-best 25.85. Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) finished behind her in fifth with a time of 27.79.

Allen took second in the 400m dash with a time of 58.82 before a third-place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 4:15.63. In addition to Allen, Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch), Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) and Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) were on the squad.

In the 5000m, Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) finished in the top third of the field, placing seventh in 19:07.27.

In field events, Faith Leri (Alexandria, PA/Juniata Valley) finished fifth in the long jump with a height of 1.50m (4' 11"), and Yenchik took 10th in the pole vault, lifting 3.23m (10' 7").

The Lions return to the track at Westminster Saturday with a 10 a.m. start.
