Young Tabbed CWPA Offensive Player of the Week, Dodgen and Persch Named Honorable Mentions

ERIE, Pa. – The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announced its Players of the Week on Wednesday, with three Lions from Penn State Behrend making the list.

Shannon Young (Roseville, CA/Roseville) highlights the awards as the Offensive Player of the Week. Young had nine points over two games last week, including a five-goal performance in a victory over Caltech. Young would chip in two assists in each contest, averaging 4.5 points per game.

Chloe Dodgen (Riverside, CA/Hillcrest) was tabbed as a Defensive Honorable Mention following a 1-1 week in which she made 17 saves over two games. Dodgen allowed six goals in the Lions lone victory on the week while also adding on five assists.

Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) was named Rookie of the Week Honorable Mention after a seven-goal output. Persch led Behrend in scoring against Occidental, potting three, followed by a four-goal effort in a win over the Beavers.

The Lions return to action this weekend for the CWPA Regional Tournament in Washington, PA, hosted by Washington & Jefferson.
