BUFFALO, NY—The Penn State Behrend baseball team swept a doubleheader from D'Youville on Friday afternoon.
Chad Zurat (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) threw a complete game shutout in game one, striking out nine while walking only two batters.
Brian Bohman (Erie, PA/McDowell) went 4-for-5 as Nathan Junk had two hits while Alex Margraf (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Tommy Kocur (Erie, PA/McDowell) each had two runs batted in.
In game two, the Lions (15-10, 5-3 AMCC) won 14-1.
Dante DeSantis (DuBois, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) went six strong innings for the Lions, and Andrew Quiggle (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Central Tech) finished things off. DeSantis notched seven strikeouts while walking only one batter. Quiggle had two K's in his lone inning of work.
Bohman went 3-for-4 with four runs batted in and four runs scored, and Kocur and Margraf each had two hits with two RBI's. Ryan Finnegan (Fombell, PA/Riverside) reach base three times and scored twice.
All told, Behrend banged out 27 hits in the two-game sweep.
Behrend will take on Juniata for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
