ERIE, Pa. – The honors continue to roll in for the Penn State Behrend baseball team. On Thursday, starting pitcher Dante DeSantis (DuBois, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) was named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Team.

To qualify, a student-athlete must achieve a GPA of 3.30 and be of sophomore athletic eligibility.

DeSantis has put together a sensational senior season, compiling a 7-2 record with a 2.26 earned run average in 51.2 innings pitched. He has served as the backbone of a Lions pitching staff that has struck out more batters (250) and allowed fewer walks (82) than any other team in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

Behrend will travel to take on Otterbein on Thursday, May 1 at 4 p.m.
