Men's Soccer Receives Peak Performer Award

ERIE, Pa. – In celebration of NCAA Division III week, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) announced the 2016-17 recipients of the Team Peak Performer awards. The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team had the highest cumulative team grade-point average (GPA) in their sport among conference teams.

The Lions tallied a cumulative GPA of 3.185 for the 2016 fall semester and was just one of two conference teams to be named a Peak Performer as well as winning a conference championship. Medaille women's bowling also earned the distinction.

Medaille College led all AMCC members with five Team Peak Performers, followed by Penn State Altoona, Hilbert College and D'Youville College with three each.  Four schools--Pitt-Greensburg, Penn St. Behrend, Mount Aloysius College, and Franciscan University--rounded out the honored teams with one each.

The Hilbert College women's cross country squad boasted the highest GPA across all 18 sports, with a 3.741.
