Women's Tennis Faces No. 21 Mary Washington in NCAA Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team will be making its second appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Lions will travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia to face Mary Washington on Thursday at 10 a.m. in first-round action.

The Lions (12-9) earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's (AMCC) automatic bid into the 50-team tournament after winning their 12th conference title. The Lions were undefeated in the regular season versus AMCC competition, putting an exclamation point on a dominating fall campaign.

The Eagles (16-7), who are ranked No. 21 in the nation and No. 6 in the Atlantic South Region, claimed the CAC title for the 11th straight year to make their 16th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Behrend will battle against Mary Washington for the first time in program history. The teams will play a single-elimination tournament with the first three rounds played at the regional site.
