Lions Release Indoor Season Award Winners

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field squad announced its awards for the 2011 indoor season. The awards went to the Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, Rookie of the Year, and to the Leadership and Scholarship Award winner.

Three honorees were members of the record-setting 4x400m relay group, Jenna Fatica, Katie Spade and Liz Keller.

Fatica was named the team's Most Valuable Player. Fatica is also Lions record holder in the 800m with a mark of 2:18.74. Spade and Keller were honored for their contributions to the ECAC qualifying team as well. Spade was named Rookie of the Year and Keller was tabbed Most Improved Player.

Tanisha Wheatley was recognized as the program's Leadership and Scholarship Award winner for her efforts in the classroom and on the track. The senior runner has a GPA of 3.05 and is known for being an encourager and putting the team before herself.
