Track & Field Ready to Compete at ECAC Championships

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend track & field team will compete at the 2011 ECAC Division IIII Outdoor Championships on Thursday, May 19 and Friday, May 20 at Moravian College's Rocco Calvo Field & Timothy Breidegam Track.

The Lions are one of 140 teams with 11 student-athletes participating in the two-day championship. The championship will begin on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. with men's and women's field events, followed by the start of the decathlon at 1 p.m. and the start of the heptathlon at 1:10 p.m.  Open track events will begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday. The decathlon and heptathlon events will continue on Friday, with both beginning at 10 a.m.

Leading the men will be Mike Stark, who is competing in the 110m hurdles, pole vault and high jump.  The foursome of Cody Bupp, Craig Webb, Jordan Telin and Eston Winn will make up the 4x100 relay team.  Denny Kang will join Winn and Stark in the pole vault, while Ronson Mazany will represent the Lions in the long jump.  In addition to Stark, Brian Lauff will also compete in the 110m hurdles.

On the women's side, Jenna Fatica takes a best time of 2:18.44 into the 800m run and Victoria Harwood is entered in the 3000m steeplechase. Victoria Harwood is the third and final competitor for Behrend, participating in the pole vault.
