Women's Track & Field Competed at Spire Friday

GENEVA, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend women's indoor track & field competed at the Spire Collegiate Invite on Friday evening.

Key Moments:

* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) won the pole vault for the second straight meet
* She hit an AARTFC qualifying mark of 3.20m
* Kappeler also led the Lions in the long jump and 60m dash
* She was fourth in the long jump (4.60m) and seventh in the 60m dash (8.53)
* The Lions took seventh through 11th place in the 60m dash, led by Kappeler
* Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin) ran the mile in 5:20.17 for second place
* Carr, Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Victoria Dieterich (Oakmont, PA/Riverview) finished fourth in the final relay of the day
* The foursome ran 4:22.21 in the 4x400m relay
* Shannon Burns (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson) had two fifth-place finishes
* In the high jump, Burns hit a mark of 1.40m and also 8.62m in the triple jump
* Grace Jones (Union City, PA/Union City) followed Kappeler in the pole vault, placing fourth with a height of 2.75m
* In the shot put, Paige Massey (Erie, PA/McDowell) took fifth (10.17m)
