Women's Track & Field Competes at Slippery Rock; Nola Wins 5000m

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) won the 5000m event to lead the Penn State Behrend women's outdoor track & field team at the Slippery Rock Invitational on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* Battling severe weather conditions, Nola was first in the 5000m race with an AARTFC qualifying time of 18:29.77
* Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds) came in eighth behind Nola in the 5000m
* Javelin thrower Julie Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) threw 36.93m to hit an AARTFC mark and take fourth place
* Haley Felton (Midway, PA/Fort Cherry) tallied eighth in the 400m, clocking in at 1:20.45
* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) was the top finisher for the Lions in the pole vault, placing 10th with a height of 3.10m
* In the high jump, Shannon Burns (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson) took 12th with a height of 1.45m
