Behrend Women's Outdoor Track & Field Competed at John Papa Invitational

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's outdoor track & field team competed at the John Papa Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock on Thursday. 

Key Moments:

* Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin) and Julie Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) each recorded third-place finishes for the Lions
* Carr ran 4:57.42 in the 1500m for third, while Balaski tossed the javelin 37.28m for third
* Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) was fifth in the 400m (1:01.25) and Jessica Park (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) claimed fifth in the hammer throw (34.13m)
* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) and Shannon Burns (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson) had eighth-place finishes in the pole vault and high jump, respectively
* The height of 3.29m in the pole vault was good for eighth for Kappeler
* Burns hit a mark of 1.45m in the high jump also for eighth
* Emily Ferrans (Bradfordwoods, PA/North Allegheny) finished ninth in the 800m (2:33.77)
* Haley Felton (Midway, PA/Fort Cherry) came in 10th in the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 1:12.12
