ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend senior Anne Lawrence (State College, PA/State College) and junior MaryEllen Spooner (Springfield, VA / West Springfield) have been named 2012 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Americans.
Lawrence earned All-American honorable-mention status at the driver position. She was second on the team with 43 steals and 22 assists. Lawrence also netted 13 goals.
For the third consecutive season, Spooner was named to the honorable-mention squad. She netted a team-best 39 goals while dishing out 19 assists. Spooner also recorded 74 steals and 40 drawn kickouts. She is the first-ever Behrend women's water polo player to be named a three-time All-American.
