ERIE, Pa. - On Tuesday, November 11, the Penn State Behrend baseball team and coaching staff visited the Penn State Behrend Child Care Center, located in Knowledge Park. This annual event is part of the team's community service to enjoy time away from the field in a fun atmosphere.
"It was a fun experience not only for the kids but for everyone who had the opportunity to be there," said junior outfielder John Hlavinka (Venetia, PA/Peters Township). "It was a great experience to give back to the Behrend community and be a part of something bigger than ourselves," said sophomore infielder Brandon Bergstrom (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny).
The baseball team traditionally also volunteers at Habitat for Humanity and supports Grady's Decision as additional ways to give back to the community.
