Behrend Baseball Cuts Hair for Grady's Decision

ERIE, Pa. - On Tuesday, December 9, the Penn State Behrend baseball team participated in voluntary hair cutting in an effort to raise money and awareness for Grady's Decision, a non-profit organization run by Behrend baseball alumni Ryan Smith.

Grady's Decision was created to help families experiencing premature births as well as those families with children needing specialized medical attention.  The organization can assist with parking costs, food, housing near hospitals and transportation needs.

"Ryan has an enormous sized heart and Grady's Decision impacts so many people. We are really pleased we could impact this organization and raise awareness and at the same time celebrate all the the terrific things that are happening." said head coach Paul Benim. Senior pitcher Andrew Quiggle added, "It feels great to make a difference in other people's lives." Behrend baseball has raised an estimated $1,500 over the past two years.

Brian Hirschberg, former Behrend baseball assistant and now head coach at Drew University, will also have his squad participate in the charity event.
