Baseball Rolls Past Mt. Aloysius; Advance to AMCC Semifinals

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team rolled to an 11-0 victory over Mt. Aloysius (22-19) in the quarterfinal round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament.

Tylor Williams (Atlantic, PA/Conneaut Lake) tossed a complete game shutout allowing only three hits to go along with five strikeouts. Williams picked up his fifth win of the season.

The Lions (24-10-1) jumped out to an early lead pushing across three runs in the bottom of the second inning. Matt Wolczko (Apollo, PA/Kiski) doubled down the right field line with the bases loaded to bring in the game's first two runs and Tommy Kocur (Erie, PA) followed with an RBI groundout. Wolczko would finish the game 3-for-4 with four RBI's.

Behrend scored again in the sixth when Ryan Finnegan (Fombell, PA/Riverside) singled to left field bringing in two runs. The hit gave the Lions a 5-0 lead.

Behrend would score two more in the seventh and four in the eighth to take control of the game. Brandon Bergstrom (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) had three hits with two RBI's and two runs scored while Alex Margraf (Erie, PA/McDowell) chipped in two hits and an RBI.

The Lions advance to play in the semifinal game tomorrow at noon versus the winner of Pitt-Greensburg and La Roche.
