Six Men's Soccer Players Named to AMCC All-Conference Team

ERIE, Pa. – Six Penn State Behrend men's soccer players were named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Conference team, while Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) was named AMCC Newcomer of the Year and Eric Hackworth (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) was chosen AMCC Defensive Player of the Year.

Along with Crivelli and Hackworth, midfielder Eric Vunovic (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) and goalkeeper Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) were named to the All-AMCC first-team. Senior midfielder Garrett Fiscus (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) and junior forward Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) were second-team all-conference selections.

Crivelli has been superb throughout his freshman season, and is currently tied for the team lead in goals with 10. He netted a hat trick in a 4-1 victory over Pitt-Bradford on October 23. From September 20-October 26, Crivelli scored an astounding nine goals over an eleven-game span.

For Hackworth, this is the second-consecutive year the senior has won the AMCC Defensive Player of the Year Award. It is also his second consecutive first-team all-conference selection. A consummate two-way player, Hackworth has also poured in four goals and one assist on the offensive end while starting all 21 games.

This is the third all-conference selection for Vunovic, who was also a first-team choice last season. He has scored 10 goals to go along with six assists thus far in 2013. Earlier this year, Vunovic became the first player in Behrend history to record 20 goals and 20 assists in a career.

Wassell, who was named to the All-AMCC second-team last year, has recorded eight shutouts en route to a 14-4 record so far this season. The junior goalkeeper has been nearly unpenetratable in net, posting a 0.87 GAA while making 50 saves.

Belack earns second-team All-AMCC honors for the second straight year. The junior is tops on the Lions assist chart with eight, to go along with three goals. He scored twice in the Lions AMCC Tournament semifinal victory over La Roche on November 6.
