ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend graduate student Jake Schmidt (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) and sophomore Julia Sank (North East, PA/North East) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week, announced on Monday.

For a second straight week, Schmidt has won men's swimming and diving Athlete of the Week. He was a four-time winner, claiming three individual win and one relay for the Lions on Saturday against Alfred State. He was dominate in the freestyle events, winning the 100 (48.32), the 200 (1:48.73) and the 500 (5:08.58). Schmidt also swam a leg on the winning 400 free relay.

Sank earned women's Diver of the Week for a second time this season. She won both diving events on Saturday, posting her season-best scores on the one-meter board (174.50) and on the three-meter board (151.30) to help Behrend defeat Alfred State.
